The CIO Code is an attempt to gather together the principles involved in making good technology decisions. It is intended as a means to share real-world examples of how to navigate the complexities of technology initiatives.
Much of the writing involves thinking through the variables that contribute to good decisions. Part of the objective of the blog, however, is to formulate some of the core principles in the form of the CIO Code, a covenant of those who need to make technology decisions up and down the chain of command.
While the CIO Code will be especially helpful for those who bear decision-making responsibility for IT initiatives as a major portion of their professional roles, the assumption is that decisions, especially good ones, are made in collaboration. That means that all members of a project or organizational team can benefit from knowing what it takes to make good decisions.
